BROOKLYN, NEW YORK – Experimental funk-rock band DOPAPOD is pleased to announce that the digital release of their second studio album, Drawn Onward, will be on Christmas Day, December 25, 2011.  Fans can simply go to the band’s official website, to access their free download of the entire album.  The album release comes as a holiday treat for fans, marking the end of an extremely busy year for the band.  Having played over 150 shows and releasing their first live album in 2011 alone, the band has been proving itself to be extremely attention worthy with their incessant touring schedule that has brought their high energy live show to over 23 states.

Drawn Onward was recorded by Aaron Nevezie at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, NY.  This is the same studio in which The Black Keys recorded their Grammy award winning single ‘Tighten Up’.  Additional recording was done by David Brandwein at Galaxy Smith Studios, also in Brooklyn, NY.  The album was mixed and mastered by Eli Walker and D. James Goodwin, respectively, at Isokon in Woodstock, NY.

From their origins of thumping up from basement parties in Boston, to bumping the sound systems of major venues all across the East Coast and Midwest, Dopapod has been growing steadily as a tour de force for the last two years.  Their unique fusion of funk, rock, electronica, and psychedelic jams translates into an eclectic musical intensity that has become so characteristic of their live performances.  Vibrant explosions of rhythmic and melodic instrumentals collide brilliantly to showcase the band’s stellar talent and infectious energy.

The 10-track release features Eli Winderman on keyboards, Rob Compa on guitar, Chuck Jones on bass, and Neal “Fro” Evans on drums.  The four met while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
